About

In the early 1950s, Dr. L.L. Schendel was recruited by Florida State University to build and lead new programs in audiology and speech-language pathology. A visionary who believed in the marriage of academic research and clinical service, Dr. Schendel pioneered the training of audiologists and speech pathologists. He founded the FSU Speech and Hearing Clinic, which was later renamed in his honor.

The L.L. Schendel Speech and Hearing Clinic at Florida State University offers clinical services for both children and adults dealing with a wide spectrum of communication disorders. Our services include comprehensive testing and treatments, including a comprehensive range of services for cochlear implants. Our team of expert audiologists, speech language pathologists, students, and academic experts offer compassionate and individualized care utilizing the latest options for communication assessment and intervention.
