In the early 1950s, Dr. L.L. Schendel was recruited by Florida State University to build and lead new programs in audiology and speech-language pathology. A visionary who believed in the marriage of academic research and clinical service, Dr. Schendel pioneered the training of audiologists and speech pathologists. He founded the FSU Health Speech & Hearing Clinic, which was later renamed in his honor.
The FSU Health Speech & Hearing Clinic at Florida State University offers clinical services for both children and adults dealing with a wide spectrum of communication disorders. Our services include comprehensive testing and treatments, including a comprehensive range of services for cochlear implants.
